Those sneaky chefs at Greggs pulled off a great piece of marketing last year by taking their new summer menu to a gourmet food and drink festival but under the fictitious guise of artisanal food establishment, Gregory and Gregory.
The video released on YouTube shows foodies praising the menu from deli Gregory and Gregory. Attendees of the festival were in fact treated to Gregg’s new summer menu tucking into slow roasted tomato and feta salad, chicken and roasted grain salad and vegan Mexican wrap all winning much praise for the freshness and quality of the flavours.
The video captures their reaction when they are told the items are actually from Gregg’s. Synonymous with sausage rolls and pasty’s, Gregg’s is really pulling out all the stops to reposition themselves as a wholesome fast food destination and the reactions speak volumes with guests baffled that what they were eating was actually from Gregg’s.
In a competitive fast-food market, Gregg’s is really pulling out all of the stops to entice a more discerning customer and here at GAB we think this is a great stunt to really aid that repositioning.
