GAB’s favourite hospitality marketing & PR campaigns at the moment…

February 7, 2014 3:30 pm

Joey Essex going gold! – As part of PizzaExpress’ ‘Golden Dough
Ball’ competition, TOWIE star Joey Essex recently painted himself head to
toe in gold! This sparkling display is representative of the quirky prize; a
golden dough ball worth a whopping £5,000!

London tube strike provides clever marketing opportunity – The
current tube strike has caused chaos in London.  However  PizzaExpress has
capitalised on the disorder by offering customers 40% off their food bill as
a ‘reward for making it into work’. This tongue-in-cheek promotion will
undoubtedly cheer up many frustrated commuters

Nando’s takes to Twitter  – Manchester United star Adnan Januzaj
was reported to have spent just £18 whilst on a recent date.  The restaurant
chain has used Twitter to post a picture of a £50 gift card, stating that
‘the second date’s on us’. This simple yet humorous post has been
‘retweeted’ by over 21,000 users, and emphasises the power of social media.

January sale at Gusto – Bar and restaurant chain Gusto offered
50% off food bills for all customers throughout January. This fantastic
promotion enabled even the most cash-strapped customers to eat out during
the annual January austerity.  This offer will have undoubtedly led to a
rise in popularity for the restaurant brand, at a time when all bars and
restaurants have plenty of seats to fill.

Some hospitality marketing & PR campaigns are ingenious and eye-catching.
Yet there is still a sense that simple discount offers are just as
effective today as they have ever been.  As the saying goes, if it isn’t
broken, don’t fix it!

Esher – A high street restaurant institution known and loved across Surrey. It offers dishes made from the finest fresh ingredients, in beautiful surroundings, with friendly and efficient service.

Tonbridge – This riverside restaurant neighbours the Castle and its grounds. It is light and airy, with a friendly and inviting atmosphere. It boasts a large courtyard garden, and a balcony that overlooks the river for special al fresco dining.

GAB’s #lovechristmas Part Two

December 2, 2013 11:50 am
  1. Over Eating – we all do it so we need to join together and embrace a bit of over eating. It only happens once a year – yeah right! We shall be doing it quite a lot at PizzaExpress this year. Well it’s only fair we sample the goods we promote isn’t it?!
  2. Shopping – the sales come earlier and earlier each year which is good for us as we can buy more shoes, clothes, jewellery, handbags, you name it!!
  3. Loved Ones – we love to catch up with fellow GAB-er’s, the ones who taught us our skills and even now we practise talking (a lot!) when we are around them!
  4. Home Alone – nothing beats it being cold outside, being wrapped up and watching an epic Christmas movie.
  5. Novelty knitwear – no one can escape a Christmas jumper. So bad but so good. This year we will mostly be sporting these babies!
  6. Day Festivities – it’s the time of year that’s more socially acceptable to go out in the day so we shall have a glass of Prosecco please and we will see you later!

  1. Christmas Markets – we love the Manchester ones, they’ve now spread right across the city so food and drink and craft lovers alike can revel in the shiny lights, cinnamon smells in the air and the odd singing reindeer every now and then! Find us here for the GAB Consultancy Christmas party.
  2. Gingerbread Hot Chocolate
What’s not to like, chocolate, cream, marshmallows, gingerbread man neatly positioned on top. It’s the only time of year you can get away with this all at the same time.
  3. Sparkly Dresses
When in doubt, just add glitter. You will find lots of sparkle at the GAB Consultancy Christmas party…
  4. Cheers – whether it’s with a glass of Champagne in hand or mulled wine, nothing says Christmas like a succession of over the top cheers rounds.
  5. Advent Calendars – yes we know were supposed to be dieting but nothing starts the say off better than a little square of chocolate does it?
  6. Mariah Carey – nothing more to say than “All I want for Christmas is youuuuu”. What an anthem!
